Our Offer

We offer our partners persons with a Christian motivation for cooperation in their projects. They commit themselves as individuals and bring with them pastoral, technical or social know-how. Their work concentrates on formation and counselling and aims at the strengthening of the organization. The promotion of local personnel is the goal of the common endeavour.

As a rule, the employment contract of a skilled person lasts three years (five in Taiwan). This employment contract can be prolonged at the request of the partner organization and in mutual agreement between the BMI and the skilled person in question. As a rule we understand our cooperation as limited in time, we work towards the replacement by local personnel.

The BMI has formulated its entire operation in a programme with major guiding principles. We try to realize these in accordance with the needs of the partners in various fields of activity:

Formation of community

The formation and strengthening of civil structures; work for peace; strengthening of basic communities; empowerment of women and youth groups; projects that foster income; professional training; socio-pastoral work.

Human rights activities

The empowerment of minorities, of working migrants, of displaced persons and refugees, of the handicapped and of people affected by HIV/Aids (patients, orphans).

Intercultural dialogue

The promotion of cooperation with non-Christian institutions; the study of religious and cultural traditions and rites as a discussion with one’s own Christian practice.

Care for creation

The use of solar energy to improve living conditions; careful use of the natural resources (water, wood); ecological agriculture.
