Weaving the threads of the social net
The specialists of the Bethlehem Mission Immensee are actively engaged in projects which strengthen communities in their cultural and religious identity and in their commitment for peace, in projects that fight poverty and corruption, and support the joint responsibility for the environment and livelihood. Important partners of the BMI in the Philippines are the Catholic Church and its local networks as well as one NGO committed to the interreligious peace work.

Coordination Desk of the BMI in the Philippines
Tobias Denzler is the present coordinator for the Philippines. He is the legal representative of the Bethlehem Mission Immensee and our main contact to the local partner organizations of the BMI. Tobias Denzler is responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of our present assignments as well as for the planning of new co-operations and projects with local partners.

Improve women's and children's health
To improve women's and children's health Corinne Denzler puts the main emphasis on the training of the medical staff and the volunteers in the diocese and a closer cooperation with the local health centres and medical services. She promotes education programmes on the planting of backyard gardens and medicinal herbal plants with emphasis on organic farming.

In the Philippines new roads and bridges are often not built to an end, because the money disappears into the pockets of local politicians. Sascha Müller supports volunteers in their fight against corruption. Together they will take a closer and more cricitical look at public construction projects.

Jenni Keel assists the catholic high schools in the Vicariate in establishing professional counselling services for their students. They will train teachers in interviewing techniques and individual counseling.
